Meet the monsters that most resemble those in games!

Palworld was already an absolute hit within hours of its release earlier this year and its popularity is only increasing as time goes by. The game, which features world exploration, battles using technological resources and little monsters that can help you on your quests, has delighted fans all over the world.

However, precisely because of these little monsters called "pals", the comparison with Pokémon, one of Nintendo's most famous franchises, is inevitable. In this article, we've investigated the similarities and put together 13 pals that look like Pokémon so you can judge for yourself. Follow us and find out if any of them you've ever associated with yourself before!

Boltmane - Luxray

One of the first cases of pals that look like Pokémon is certainly Boltmane. The little monster has the appearance of a lion with a mane and black fur and is classified as an electric pal. If this immediately made you think of the Luxray pokémon, know that you're not the only one who has made this association!

Luxray comes from the Sinnoh region and one of the only differences between him and Boltmane is the blue details on his body, which are a lighter shade of brown. Both are also of the electric element, which further increases their similarity.

Dinossom - Meganium

Another case of pals that look like Pokémon at first glance is Dinossom. This little monster belongs to the grass element and looks like a green dinosaur with a giant flower on its head.

Exactly like who? That's right! Meganium, a pokémon from the Johto region that is the result of the evolution of Chikorita. Although they aren't exactly the same, since Meganium's flower is on its neck, the resemblance is very great and Dinossom's flower also resembles that of another pokémon that has it in exactly the same place and shape: Lilligant. Both Meganium and Dinossom were based on the sauropod dinosaur to create their looks.

Anubis - Lucario

Anubis is one of the strongest monsters in Palworlrd and one that players want to see. He is a terrestrial pal who can be found as a boss throughout the world and, once defeated, it becomes possible to capture him to add to your collection. Its appearance is that of a jackal with human details reminiscent of the Egyptian deity that shares the same name with it.

This little monster is also one of the pals that look like pokémon, since Lucario exists and looking at Anubis without remembering Lucario is almost impossible. The difference in coloration and also in type is what separates them from being practically the same thing, since Lucario is a steel-fighting pokémon that was introduced in the Nintendo game in the Sinnoh region and has blue details that Anubis doesn't have.

Grizzbolt - Electabuzz

But among the cases of pals that look like Pokémon, Grizzbolt is one of the most talked about. Grizzbolt is a little electric monster that often appears in Palworld's promotional images as a sort of "face of the game", but anyone who knows Pokémon immediately remembers a figure in the game that closely resembles Grizzbolt's characteristics.

This figure is Electabuzz, an evolution of Elekid, a pokémon also of the electric element with an appearance inspired by monsters from both Japanese and American mythology, such as Yeti and Onis. It is of the first generation, having been introduced in the Kanto region, which makes it well known.

Robinquill - Decidueye

And if you think that the cases of pokémon clone pals are over, you're very much mistaken! We're just getting started! The next case can be seen with the pal Robinquill, a grass-type monster whose basic inspiration for its appearance was the owl, an animal that exists in the real world.

But if you look closely at Robinquill, you'll certainly remember Decidueye, the final evolution of Rowlet, a grassy, flying pokémon that was introduced to the Alola and Hisui regions in the seventh generation. Robinquill and Decidueye are part of a classic case of pals that look like pokémons.

Cremis - Eevee

Despite being a ball of cuteness and charming players as soon as he crosses their paths, Cremis is also a clear case of pals that look like pokémons. He's a normal-type monster whose appearance was inspired by real-world foxes, but with many extra layers of fur, giving him the appearance of a cotton ball with paws.

Its counterpart in Nintendo's game, however, is certainly Eevee, a normal-type pokémon that delights players all over the world with its cuteness and the possibility of evolving into several different species. Eevee also looks like a fox and, although it doesn't resemble cotton candy as much as Cremis, it's just as cute as the other little monster. It was introduced in the Kanto region and is one of the first generation of pokémon.

Tanzee - Pansage

Tanzee is also one of the pals most often shown in advertisements involving Palword and also a case of pals that look like Pokémon. This is because the grass-type pal, which is clearly inspired by a monkey, has a Pokémon look-alike that has no difference in appearance.

And of course we're talking about Pansage, the pokémon introduced in the Unova region in the fifth generation of monsters. Pansage is also of the plant element and has green hair in a shape very reminiscent of a broccoli flower. Tanzee also has something on its head that resembles a plant leaf, although it looks nothing like broccoli.

Verdash - Cinderace

Verdash is a grass pal and its appearance is predominantly green, while the rest of its look is very reminiscent of a rabbit. The fact that the color palette is very different from its counterpart in Pokémon may make some less attentive players miss it, but here too we have a case of pals that look like Pokémon.

This is because Cinderace has the exact same silhouette as Verdash. As Cinderace is a fire pokémon introduced in the eighth generation in the Galar region, its colors are warmer, ranging from yellow to red and white, but the similarity between the two little monsters is undeniable.

Celaray - Mantine

Celaray is a cutie. A water pal with the appearance of a manta ray that is clearly another case of pals that look like Pokémon. The little monster is a lighter shade of blue than its counterpart in the Nintendo game, but anyone who plays both games will immediately know where the inspiration for its look came from.

That's because Mantine fulfills all the requirements to be Celaray's lost twin in the Pokémon universe. It is an aquatic pokémon, although it is also flying and has the appearance of a manta ray. Its color is a darker blue and the shape of its eyes is considerably different, but the rest of the similarities are still noticeable. Mantine is a pokémon from the Johto region, introduced in the second generation.

Bad - Umbreon

Mau and Umbreon

Between the next two monsters on the list we have what looks like a situation of Pokémon clone pals. That's because Mau, a shadow element pals, manages to have almost no features that differentiate it from its Pokémon counterpart, Umbreon, apart from its tail and the size of its ears.

Umbreon is Eevee's evolution of the dark element and has a dark coat with some golden details in the exact same places that Mau also has them. Both are inspired by the fox that exists in the real world and Umbreon appears in the Nintendo game for the first time in the second generation, in the Johton region. Mau and Umbreon are yet another example of pals who look like pokémons.

Lamball - Wooloo

Lamball is one of the first pals the player will meet when they start their journey in Palworld and perhaps the first case of pals that look like pokémons you'll see. He's a normal-type pal and is very useful as a companion once he's been captured, especially for carrying out tasks at the base.

But Lamball has a very strong resemblance to the pokémon Wooloo that is quickly noticed by anyone who knows the two little monsters. Wooloo is also a normal pokémon, introduced to the game in the eighth generation, from the nation of Galar and with an appearance inspired by a sheep, just like Lamball.

Jetragon - Latios/Latias

Jetragon is a dragon-type pal that can serve as a mount for the player. He's as fast as a jet and can be very useful in various fields. But its usefulness doesn't exempt it from being one of the pals that look like Pokémon, quite the opposite. As its functionality is very reminiscent of jet planes in the real world, an experienced Pokémon player will immediately associate it with the legendary pokémon duo Latios and Latias.

The concept of these two is precisely that they look like planes without legs and focus on flight. Their type is also dragon, although they are also psychic. The color palette of Latios and Jetragon is practically the same, which reinforces their similarities. Latios and Latias were introduced to Pokémon in the third generation, in the Hoenn region.

Astegon - Mega Aggron

Astegon and Mega Aggron

Astegon is a very imposing and difficult-to-defeat shadow dragon pal and also one of the pals that look like pokémons. It has a robust appearance, with wings and a completely black body. Its wings have red details and it looks very reminiscent of a beetle in flight, especially in the shape of its face.

The mega version of the Aggron pokémon also has similar features to Astegon, although their colors are completely different. But what is most striking about their resemblance is the shape of their faces. Mega Aggron doesn't have wings, but here it's clearly "the face of one snout of another", as the old saying goes. Aggron joined the Pokémon family in the third generation, in the Hoenn region.

Conclusion

Of course, this article isn't an indictment of either company, just a point about the similarities between characters that were even very similar in the final result, showing that there are pals just like pokémons. Bad and Umbreon They look like twin brothers if put side by side, for example, even though they have their differences in game.
