The franchise has lasted many years, spawning many spinoffs, films and games that have won over fans all over the world with charismatic characters making up the storyline.
In order to choose the eleven most powerful figures in this work, we've put together the following article based not only on the size of their abilities, but also on their relevance to the plot. Obito Uchiha
Although Obito didn't appear to be much of a character in his first few appearances, as he matures he takes his place among Naruto's strongest characters. He is thought to have been eliminated for much of the story after what happened in one of the Great Ninja Wars, but in a very clever plot twist, Akatsuki member Tobi turns out to be the Obito who has been alive all this time.
And as well as just being alive, he also acquired a great deal of power as he tried to put Madara's ideals into practice, one of the strongest villains in the entire franchise. Obito has already had the Juubi in his body and some other bijuus, proving to be very resistant and strong, so much so that he fought Naruto, Killer B, Kakashi and Guy at the same time. Weak is the last thing a character should be called.
Minato Namikaze
But even though he is considered to be quite skilled, Obito never surpassed his master, Minato Namikaze. Minato is the father of the protagonist Naruto and served as the fourth Hokage of the Leaf Village, being the ninja who held the position for the shortest time. He was later eliminated in the Nine-tailed Fox's attack on Konohagakure.
However, even though he died young, Minato established himself as one of Naruto's strongest characters. He is the creator of the Rasengan, that famous spiral jutsu used on the palms of the hands that is often used by Naruto in his fights. But it is for perfecting one of Tobirama Senju's techniques that he is best known, the "Flying Raijin", which has become his signature jutsu.
Itachi Uchiha
Itachi is one of the first members of Akatsuki to be mentioned in the anime and also one of the most feared that were introduced in the classic phase. He is Sasuke's older brother and one of those directly responsible for the massacre of the Uchiha clan, which led to the family's virtual extinction, leaving only himself and his younger brother.
He is one of Naruto's strongest characters, collecting incredible feats even before he entered his teens. He was one of the youngest members of the clan to awaken the sharingan, join the elite Anbu hunters at the age of eleven and use the mangekyou sharingan before reaching adulthood.
Nagato Uzumaki
Speaking of Akatsuki, we couldn't leave Nagato off this list of Naruto's strongest characters. He is one of the members who founded the mercenary organization that acts as the anime's villain in some arcs and was also at the center of one of the most memorable attacks on Konohagakure when he used his Shinra tensei ability to invade it.
Nagato uses the codename "Pain" as a member of Akatsuki and trained with Jiraiya when he was younger, along with his friends Yahiko and Konan. As a member of the Uzumaki clan, his body already has a higher chakra reserve than normal, but he also underwent experiments that led him to awaken the Rinnegan eye jutsu, considered the strongest of the doujutsus. He also controls the Six Paths of Pain, a technique that allows him to use six corpses as puppets. Pain is undoubtedly one of the most powerful characters in Naruto.
Orochimaru
Anyone who has followed Naruto since the classic era knows that Orochimaru is a villain who knows how to put fear into others. He wreaked havoc during the chuunin test and was also directly responsible for the death of Sarutobi, the third hokage. He mastered a huge number of jutsus and spent his whole life trying to learn new techniques.
He is one of Naruto's strongest characters because he is immortal, among other things. This is because he is able to transfer his soul to another body using the "Reincarnation of the Living Corpse" jutsu, increasing his life expectancy to something unlimited. No wonder he was awarded the title of Sannin along with Jiraiya and Tsunade!
Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke is one of Naruto's main characters, acting as a sort of second protagonist and rival to the orange-suited ninja after whom the anime is named. He spends much of the Shippuden phase on the side of evil, but returns to ally himself with Konohagakure when the final arc arrives and everyone has to face a greater evil.
There's no denying that Sasuke has become one of Naruto's strongest characters as the franchise has developed. From a young age, he already showed great skills in martial arts, swordplay and fire techniques, but this was all enhanced and amplified when he trained with Kakashi and then when he left the Leaf Village to follow in Orochimaru's footsteps to seek revenge on his brother. Sasuke is also able to control his sharingan and use the mangekyou form of this doujutsu, among many other things he learned by the end of the anime.
Hashirama Senju
Responsible for the founding of Konohagakure, Hashirama Senju is a name that has become engraved in the village's history as one of Naruto's strongest ninjas. He was the first to assume the post of hokage and also earned the nickname "Shinobi God" for his arsenal of skills.
His main technique was all the jutsus involving the element "wood" in the anime, but that didn't mean that he didn't master other much more complex and powerful jutsus. After his death, the cells in his body became the object of study among shinobi researchers due to the potential power of his genetics. In addition, his descendants are also extremely strong.
Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha is considered by many otaku to be not only one of the strongest characters in Naruto, but in all anime. He has managed to perfect techniques considered simple in the ninja world to their maximum level, taking taijutsu and senjutsu to a level never imagined. It's worth noting that, as an Uchiha, he also shines by mastering the sharingan and the magekyou sharingan to an incomparable degree.
But once again, Madara went beyond what was imagined and awakened another form of doujutsu: the rinnesharingan. Naruto Uzumaki

He, like Nagato, had a greater chakra reserve than the others from birth due to his Uzumaki genetics, but this was amplified by the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed inside him.
Naruto also evolved a lot over the course of the plot, going from an ordinary boy who almost repeated the Ninja Academy exam to the hokage he so desired to be. He managed to reach the sannin level by being trained by Jiraiya and also received part of the chakra of the Sage of the Six Paths and, together with Sasuke, saved the ninja universe from Madara's evil plans.
Hagoromo Otsutsuki
Hagoromo Otsutsuki is the name of the Sage of the Six Paths, an entity so strong that he is considered a deity among the shinobi and definitely couldn't be left off the list of Naruto's strongest characters. He was the first being to house a tailed beast in his body, becoming the first known jinchuuriki, keeping Kaguya, his mother, trapped in his body after she became the juubi.
Hagoromo was responsible for creating the ninja world as we know it today and the jutsus that use chakra as their basis. If Naruto and co. are what they are today, they certainly owe it to Hagoromo and that's why the silver medal among Naruto's strongest characters goes to him and not to the protagonist.
Kaguya Otsutsuki
Kaguya is a central part of all the mythology surrounding the anime universe. She was the first living being to possess a chakra flow network after tasting the fruit of the Divine Tree, receiving great and frightening power. She also holds the gold medal among Naruto's strongest characters, without a doubt.
Her abilities include mastery of space-time, inter-dimensional travel and she can also devour the chakra of her enemies, absorbing their techniques. Kaguya is also famous for being able to master the techniques of major ocular jutsus such as the sharingan, the byakugan and the rinnegan, making her an unstoppable force who had to be sealed in the body of her own son in order not to cause a worldwide collapse.
