Despite his fragile appearance, Armin is an excellent strategist and this has earned him many victorious battles after joining the army with Eren and Mikasa. After many events involving losses in combat, Armin became the 15th commander of the raiding party, a position he still holds today.
Mikasa Ackerman
Mikasa is considered one of Attack on Titan's strongest charactersShe was the most prominent member of the rookie class that joined the army along with Eren. She was raised by the protagonist's parents after losing her family, and grew up with him and Armin. She has always been brave and determined, ready to protect Eren from the most diverse dangers.
fell by the attack of the titan Colossal, she saw her adoptive mother devoured alongside Eren and went with him to help him in his goal of wiping out all the titans from the face of the Earth. However, she doesn't care much about this and doesn't make a point of using it to her advantage, remaining a member of the army.
Levi Ackerman
Levi is one of the Attack on Titan characters most beloved by fans of the series. He has a serious and focused personality and is credited with being the strongest human soldier alive. He acts as the captain of the Special Operations division of the Exploration Squad and carries out his missions with flying colors.
He is obsessed with cleanliness and doesn't allow his materials or work environment to be dirty, having been seen cleaning his dirty blades with the remains of his enemies while still on the battlefield. However, if necessary, he won't stop facing his opponents for fear of getting his hands dirty. Getting in Levi's way is anyone's worst nightmare.
Hange Zoe
After the loss of Erwin Smith, Zoe was appointed to lead the exploration troop as the 14th commander. Previously, the character was one of the squad leaders completely obsessed with studying titans in all their forms. It is canonically non-binary in terms of gender, having been confirmed as such by the author Hajime Isayama himself.
Her lively personality and determination made Hange one of Attack on Titan's most beloved characters very quickly, which made her loss all the more painful when she perished in battle. Her intelligence was very high and, when combined with Armin's, she was able to draw up infallible plans that saved the lives of the troops several times.
Erwin Smith
Erwin is one of the most important characters in Attack on Titan at the beginning of the story. He was the 13th leader of the raiding party, the person who held this position when Eren and his friends joined the group at the beginning of the anime. He has a strong, rigid personality and is extremely reliable both in battle and out.
He was very close to Levi Ackerman, whom he treated as a kind of right-hand man. His loss during the battle of Shinganshina at the hands of the Bestial Titan was deeply felt by both the characters and the viewers of the series who had an enormous attachment to the soldier.
Sasha Blouse
Sasha is a polite girl who lived inside the Rose Wall in a village. She is one of the Attack on Titan characters who has been around since the beginning, having joined the recruit corps at the same time as Eren and his friends. Her charisma and desperation to gather food is what sets her apart and makes her so beloved by the public.
She also didn't resist a battle and ended up being eliminated in combat, which caused the entire fandom to revolt against the character who was responsible for her situation. She took part in many other battles and was a key player in many of the Exploration Squad's missions, always very motivated by Eren's desire to eliminate all the titans.
Annie Leonhart
Annie is initially introduced as a companion for the protagonists training for the army. She possesses high combat skills that make her one of the strongest Attack on Titan characters at this early stage, alongside Mikasa. However, she doesn't join the Exploration Squad with the others, preferring instead to join the Military Police.
Later, in the first season, it was revealed that she was a human with the ability to become a titan and had to be stopped. She was one of the plot's first antagonists and, after her defeat, her body was crystallized and she fell into a coma, until her escape four years later during a battle in which the Exploration Squad was involved.
Reiner Braun
Reiner, like Annie, is one of the Attack on Titan characters who was introduced as an ally, but who later turned out not to be exactly that. He, like the girl, was also an infiltrator in the army, being the user of the Battleship Titan which, together with the Colossal Titan, destroyed the Wall of Mary, resulting in the end of Eren's mother and the invasion of several titans.
He was raised from childhood to invade the city together with Annie and two other companions in the group that became known as "Marley's Warriors" whose aim was to recover the Founding Titan. He is the son of an Eldian and a Marleyan and is directly involved in the conflict between the two nations. His personality is always focused on his goals, despite the various traumas he has been through.
Reiss History
Historia is the bastard daughter of the nobleman Rod Reiss who was raised in isolation and given another name. At the beginning of the anime, she was called Krista Lenz and was sent to the army. The nobles thought she would be killed and leave, but she grew strong and became the tenth best soldier in training. She then joined the Exploration Squad.
Over time, Krista managed to regain her noble origins and resumed her true name, becoming History and later Queen of the Walls. She has held this position to this day since the revolution against the old government. She is one of the most important characters in Attack on Titan for the political progress of the plot.
Zeke Yeager
Zeke is the son of the same father as Eren, and is therefore the protagonist's half-brother. He is one of the characters in Attack on Titan who occupies a prominent place in the story. This is because he ended up manipulating both sides of the war in order to fulfill his own objectives, even though he was officially acting as Captain of Marley's Warrior Unit.
He was the user of the Bestial Titan and ended up being responsible for the demise of many soldiers, such as Erwin Smith, former leader of the Exploration Squad and much loved by the public. Many people don't like Zeke because of his attitudes, even though he is considered one of the strongest warriors in existence.
Eren Yeager
Eren Yeager is the protagonist of Attack on Titan. He initially appears as a determined boy who is unhappy with the lack of freedom that people within the walls have. He agrees with Mikasa and Armin to become soldiers when they grow up to explore the outside world, but things start to get more serious when his mother dies before his eyes during the Colossal titan's attack on Maria Wall. His goal then becomes to wipe out all the titans from the face of the Earth.
But as the story progresses, Eren is confronted with cruel truths and the dreamy boy he once was is pushed aside until he becomes a kind of antagonist in his own plot. His actions towards the end of the franchise are very questionable and most people begin to see him as a villain to be fought. However, this does not detract from his merit as one of the most important Attack on Titan characters.
